Moon jellyfish, Aurelia aurita are a beautiful and quick growing jellyfish. They require a rounded kreisel or cylinder tank to allow them to move slowly but continuisly around the tank. Aurelia feed on planktonic creatures and can be fed live newly hatched artemia shrimp, live enriched baby brine shrimp , live copepods or live rotifers.

Aurelia aurita also known as the common jellyfish can be found worldwide. Type 1 Aurelia should be kept between 15-18 Deg C and can live up to a year becoming sexually mature within the first few months you can easily identify females by planula (eggs) forming inside of them. Aurelia feed well on planktonic creatures and you can easily see the food being stored in gastic tissue surrounding the 4 classic horse shoe shaped gonads. These really are a fascinating creature and are truely mesmorising to watch
